Our Team

David Maltby

Managing Director
& co-owner

David began his career with the Leeds Building Society way back in the last century, before taking up a directorship with Fairmount Trust in the late 1980s. In 1995 David joined his other 3 brothers in the family business, when MBS Software was in its infancy.

David is Managing Director of MBS Software Ltd and is responsible for the day to day running of the business.

David lives in Cheam with his wife Sharon and 2 daughters.

Jason Bird

Software Director
& co-owner

Jason started with InfraSoft on their MOSS software development team (later renamed MX and now part of the Bentley group). He joined Maltby Land Surveys as an assistant surveyor in the early 1990s. However his strengths lay very much with software development and very quickly became instrumental in the development of early in-house systems.

He is now the Software Director at MBS, responsible for the design, coding and implementation of all our software products.

Jason lives in Steyning with his wife Vanessa and teenage son.

Carl Cavallo

Project Manager

Carl started as a Land Surveyor in 2000 and spent the next 8 years in the Geomatics/Land Survey industry, gaining an in-depth knowledge of the capabilities of MBS products in the ‘real world’. Following a 3 year period with a building design and space planning project team at the government’s BIS department, he joined MBS in 2010 to manage the increasing CAD bureau resource.

Carl provides a wealth of 3D CAD related services for MBS, concentrating on the delivery of Daylight, Sunlight & ROL Analysis and supporting training of the related software packages.

Carl lives in Horsham with his wife Emma and young son

Ali Fatoorechi

Software Developer

Ali joined MBS in early 2011, to continue the development of our many existing software packages. He is a graduate of the University of Southampton School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS), with an MSc in Software Engineering.

Since he joined us, Ali has been working in tandem with Jason and has been instrumental in the development of our newest package ‘MBS Daylight and Sunlight for SketchUp’.

Jiva Bagale

Software Developer

Jiva joined MBS in October 2015 as a Software Developer and is based in our Steyning Office.

Since he joined us, he has been working on adding support for cloud based processing for MBS Waldram ​T​ools.

He is passionate about programming and developing new software. He is a graduate from the University of West London, with a PhD in Computer Science.

Jiva lives in Worthing with his Wife and daughter and enjoys Cricket and football.

Cieran Towse

Business Development

Cieran joined MBS in September 2015 as a CAD technician having previosuly worked in the oil and gas industry. In July 2018 Cieran completed his degree in Civil Engineering studying part-time on day release.

Cieran has continuously developed and has recently transitioned from Daylight Analyst to Business Development.

Cieran lives locally and enjoys the majority of sports, in particluar football.

Tom Bishop

Daylight Analyst

Tom joined the MBS team in November 2013 as an Apprentice CAD Technician.
He went to school at Steyning Grammar School and then studied Aeronautical Engineering before stepping into the world of “Rights of Light”!
Based at our Steyning Office, he was promoted to CAD Technician in November 2014 working within the Daylighting team.
Tom lives locally and has a keen interest in cars and football.
